GinaResorrow, over 8 years ago:
Gina was born in Italy, she was heading to America to visit her parents only to find out there's a nuke heading towards them. Luckily a vault was accepting people around the world. Thinking her parents are in the vault she quickly rushed into Vault 135 just in the nick of time as the nuke hit. They handed her jumpsuits and a room to stay in; worried, she asked of her parents and they refused to answer. All they asked was for her to take part of a project, and they would let her see her parents. Despite worried, and frightened; she agreed. That night, each residents were given their own quarters and new jumpsuits. The next day, the overseer gave them few details about the project.

"This project will not only save humanity...But also save it's knowledge!"

They cheered as he walked off and the residents continued to eat their breakfast. Gina on the other hand felt off on the project. The overseer has given them not enough details about the project and yet...They seemed fine with it.

"Hmm...Something is off."

She looked down on her plate; Eggs, bacon, and golden crisp toast. The Italian didn't felt hungry but rather worried instead. She pushed the plate away from her and decided to explore the vault. Gina wondered around and found nothing unusual, sighing from her wrong hunch. She thought it would be best to brush off the whole thing. Walking back, she stopped dead on her tracks. Shock and horror plastered her face as she gazed upon the vault residents. All of them, faced down on the table. Some were even laying on the floor. She quickly rushed towards one on the table,

"Sir? Sir are you alright!?"

He responded with a snore.

"W-What?"

Gina gently lifted his head off his bowl of oatmeal. He's asleep, she checked his pulse,

"...His heartbeat seems calm...Are they all sleeping?"

A red dot in the bowl caught her eye. She quickly grabbed his spoon and started poking around the mush. After a while of digging through his meal, she found a small, red, pill.

"Drugged. But...Why?"

"Why indeed."

Before she could turn around, a sharp pain filled her rib on the right side. She gritted her teeth as she grabbed her side to feel an object there. Gina ripped it out to realize...It was a tranquilizer dart. One glance was all it took for her to sigh then collapse. Her vision started to fade as she caught a glance at the figure.

"Hmph. Keep this one. I find her very...Amusing."

Darkness. It was all just a dream...When she wakes up, she'll be sleeping at her parents house in the guest bedroom. Papa making his famous steak 'n eggs and mama pouring a delicious cup of iced coffee. She slowly opened her eyes but to only see a big shady blob,

"Everyone was foolish enough to follow my orders...But not you...Why?"

Her vision started to clear, it was the overseer looking right at her,

"Was I not persuasive enough? Was my speech not inspirational?...Even though some thought that this was a ridiculous idea, they were too gullible enough to eat the food I have provided them...But not you."

"T-The government p-provided that...N-Not you.."

She found herself strapped inside a tube. Gina couldn't move her wrists and ankles no matter how hard she tried.

"Yes yes. The government is here to save us. Rescue us from the nuke and deadly radiations. Blah blah blah-"

He slammed his fist on the glass, startling Gina,

"...The vaults weren't made to save people."

Her eyes widened. Shocked at his statement she was worried to ask him a question,

"...T-Then what are they for?"

"......."

Silence. It filled the room but Gina kept pondering the questions. He slowly removed his fist off the glass leaving a crack behind.

"Now that...Is a good question."

The overseer walked into the shadows, slowly his footsteps patters grew silent...Suddenly the light shot back on, nearly blinding Gina. It took her awhile for her eyes to adjust to the light but her mouth dropped. Monitors, Wide screens, and a panel laid in front of the screens. Buttons. Some glowing, some blinking, some that just has words and numbers. He walked over and pressed a red button with his index finger. The monitors lit up to revile tubes with the vault residents. Each monitored carefully.

"Project: Slumber..Where we freeze these people for 2,000 years, where the earth will be fully restored. Lush green grass fill the ground. A cool breeze and a blue sky will once again be restored on our once beautiful earth...We...Will pass down the knowledge unto the survivors...And they will know the truth and our history."

"T-That's insane! 2,000 years of slumber!?"

"Crazy I know...But it's fool proof..Just be glad Gina...That you were put here instead of the other vaults."

She struggled and grunted, "L-Let me go!"

"Aren't you going to ask, why do I know your name?"

"Your the overseer. You have access to our files, so it doesn't surprise me! Now let me go!"

He sighed, "Ah Gina...Gina. Gina. Gina...Don't you see? We are saving the world and it's knowledge, it's history, it's people..."

"You cannot keep these people here for 2,000 years! You do not know what will happen, how will they handle the situation, and they will surely be enraged when they find out on how you tricked them."

"All for the better. Now if you'll excuse me...It's past your bed time."

He gave a devious grin as he walked over a pulled a lever down on her tube. Sirens started blaring in her tube and suddenly it felt cold, extremely cold.

"D-Don't. Do this!"

"I must..For the good of the people...For the good of knowledge...I'm sure you'll forgive me Gina."

She coughed and wheezed until her vision turned dark and the sirens slowly grew silent.
